Untamed Hunger (Alpha Colony)

Untamed Hunger (Alpha Colony) - Aubrey Ross

I have no problems when shifters are involved in a book. Actually, I enjoy them most of the time. So when i saw that grayson was a white tiger, i liked it and was intrigued because it was original. But then maybe the story was just too original for me to truly like ? I don't know... The world created was just kind of confusing ad you don't have much time to adapt.

And yes, there were lots of sex (maybe a little too much). At first it was hot and steamy scenes I was looking forward to read, but then it was just weird and ridiculous when they were in the lab. So yeah, not my best read ever but maybe the story in the next installment gets better? I'm not sure if I am curious enough to check it out.

Escape In You

Escape In You - Rachel Schurig ***ARC received through Netgalley***

Taylor and Zoe have both a shitty life, they are messed up in their own way and don't believe in happy endings. Partying, drinking and hooking up for fun is the only thing they know to keep their head above the water. So when they meet, they agree to keep things light (Yeaaah, sure)... And we all know what's going to really happened, don't we?

They have friends in common and hang out in the same crouds sometimes, an after a while they'll find out they need each other despite what they first said.

I enjoyed the story and the characters. It was nice to see their situations evolve and finally, they got an HEA. I'm also glad this isn't the first book in a series because man, I can't keep up with all of the sequels I need to read.

So this book was really good, but I wouldn't mind more details about what happened between the sheets! ;)

Resisting the Hero

Resisting the Hero - Cindi Madsen ***ARC received through Netgalley***

Resisting the Hero is the first book in the series I've read, but it can be read as a standalone so I didn't have any troubles about that. I liked the cover and summary, and I knew it probably was a sweet romance. I wasn't disappointed by this one, it wasn't too much or not enough, you know? The characters were likeable, and I enjoyed the storyline.

Faith has been hurt too many times by men (the last one cheated on her), and the last thing she need in her life is a hero. Her father was a cop and she is still dealing with the past and what happened. She wants to date a nerdy guy who'll settle down with her. The thing is, she didn't expect to fall for a cocky cop who's also in the SWAT team. And now, she'll have her big brother but also Connor to worry about.

Connor is a player with a too big ego (and a hot body); something was missing in his life and after being around Faith and her sassy comebacks, he knew it wasn't something but someone.

If you are looking for sweet, Resisting the Hero is made for you!

Along Came Trouble

Along Came Trouble - Ruthie Knox ***ARC received through Netgalley***

3.5 stars

Along Came Trouble is the second book in the Camelot series, but you can easily read it as a standalone just like I did. This time, the author is telling us Ellen and Caleb's story.

It was a sweet romance I enjoyed reading. I liked Ellen and her sassy comeback. After an horrible marriage with a cheater and a liar, she fought for her independance and became a mother. She doesn't like to have a complicate life and she won't be please when her brother hires for her a bodyguard.

Caleb was a good guy who just wanted to do his job: protect Jamie Callahan's sister and nephew Henry away from paparazzis but also Carly. Not an easy job when Ellen doesn't want his help.

They're attracted to each other, so they'll negotiate. Ellen wants a no-strings affair while he wants to be more than just a lover. What annoyed me a little was when Ellen was too stubborn to accept any help or when she didn't say much against her ex-husband...

(Recommended for someone who likes to read a nice romance happening in a small town.)

Love Game

Love Game - Elise Sax ***ARC received through Netgalley***

3.5 stars

Another book about Gladdie Burger's crazy life? No need to ask me if I want to read it because that's obvious. And apparently, she is still noisy and trying to resolve a case (even if she isn't really wanted). Meeting corpses is also her gift and attracting hot men is just a bonus. I enjoyed reading Love Game even if I prefered Matchpoint, it was a funny and nice way to start this new year and challenge.

The characters were funny (I love Ruth when she's armed!) and there was a good mystery. I was all giddy when it came to Remington (and his hot body) or Spencer (and his womanizing way, yeah that sucked..). Too bad they seemed to have a hard time getting together.

With that little cliffhanger at the end, well I'm looking forward to read the next book in the series and see what happen between them all.

Off the Edge

Off the Edge - Carolyn Crane ***ARC received through Netgalley***

Laney is on the run from her violent ex-husband. It's been two years now that she settled down in Bangkok with a friend who helped her. She has a little job as a singer in their hotel but well, she doesn't have the best methods to hide her identity properly. She could be smart but sometimes she didn't accept the obvious...

Then she met Macmillan (Peter), a sexy spy who needs some data to do his job. He doesn't have any trouble to seduce her so he can have a look into her computer. That's when the situation went to hell. Behind the jokes and good looks, he has also a painful past that marked him forever. He thought he lost everything but Laney will show him love.

Off the Edge is a sweet and entertaining romance with lots of actions.

Brush with Desire

Brush with Desire - Jax Cassidy ***ARC received through Netgalley***

I tried to read this one, but I was bored already at the first few pages. It seems to be unrealistic and not really entertaining. When I asked myself WTF? I stopped because well, it just didn't work.

Not my kind of book.
