Amazon...

Well... I just saw that my bank account has been debited of 79£ (99.37€) by Amazon.co.uk for a year of "Prime membership" that I can't even use because I actually live in France and use Amazon.FR where I had deleted that so called membership before the "free" month stopped. I thought it would be ok since it's the same website and all... Biggest mistake ever.

Snow Falling on Bluegrass

Snow Falling on Bluegrass - Molly Harper Snow Falling on Bluegrass was a sweet story, with quirky characters and some drama.

What was supposed to be a planned weekend for the KTC's employees, turned into an entire week when a snowstorm came by. And now, they're stuck into their lodge without any electricity. It's the opportunity for Kelsey to explore her feelings with Charlie, the statistician she fell in love with. He's been a little distant lately but now that she got ride of her douchey ex-boyfriend, it's the perfect timing for them to get to know each other better.

About the "love triangle", I wouldn't really call it that. I mean, yes Kelsey has both Charlie and Luke interested in her but there wasn't any hard feelings. I wasn't torn between the two men even if I liked both of them. I wouldn't mind having Luke's story too. I'm also glad that Gina and Kelsey's ex had some kind of payback for their behaviors.

A quick, fun and easy read. I loved the characters and their sense of humor. I enjoyed reading this book and it can be read as a stand alone, but if you've read the two first books in the series you'll be pleased to see both couples here too.

Dark Child (Covens Rising): Episode 5

Dark Child (Covens Rising): Episode 5 - Adina West I was excited to start reading this because I thought it would be the last of this series or at least that it would give us more answers and action, but apparently it's not the end and the next one will be released in 2015. The end was abrupt and I didn't get why it stopped there... so, I guess I'm a little disappointed. I was frustrated while reading this fifth episode. Most of the characters irritated me and now it's pretty clear that Katerina's grandmother and her so called "family" get on my nerves.

I remember really enjoying the Omnibus Edition of the Awakening. I wanted to know what would happen next with Amarok and Alek. I expected more for the Covens Rising. I didn't hate it but I thought it could have been better, that's why I rate it only 2 stars. I'll still check out the following Episodes when it'll be released to see where the story is leaded, I hope we'll get more answers to the added mystery and that Kat will be more of a badass.

Still Life with Strings

Still Life with Strings - L.H. Cosway Shane is a cute, sweet musician who's hurting inside. He's been raised as priviledged but he isn't cocky or arrogant and I was grateful for that. He could be shy but when it comes to sex, he can be sexy and in control. I really liked him.

Jade is from an urban area and she learnt from past experiences to be tough for her family. She's the older sister and has to take care of her siblings. Her life can be complicated at times and soon, Shane asks her to show him how to live but the last thing she thinks she needs is a relationship.

Their lifes entertwined in more ways than one. They both have a difficult past, but they'll move on together.

This story was beautiful and full of surprises. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It was sweet, lovely but also sad at times. I finished reading with a smile and a HEA: perfect.

Rekindled

Rekindled - Maisey Yates Rekindled was really quick to read. I didn't read any other books from this series but it can be read as a stand-alone. I liked this story, it was a nice and sweet romance.

Lucy just left her ex-husband and she needs a job in Silver Creek. Her parents won't help her because they think she belongs with her husband. The thing is, she doesn't have any real applications so the only place she can work at as a housekeeper and live in is Mac's, the boy she used to bully back in high school.

Overall, I liked the idea and the characters but the end was a bit rushed and it was a little too much of an "insta love" (at least the "I love you" part and the epilogue when he asks her if she'd like to try marriage a second time) for my taste. The book also focus on Lucy's past with her ex-husband and she always mentionned it when I wanted her to move on and stop talking about it.

Exchange of Fire

Exchange of Fire - P.A. DePaul Sandra (alias Wraith) isn't the person she pretends to be. She's a shade, on the run from an organization she used to work for. She was a sniper but after a bad operation, she wanted to quit and never touch a gun again. But nobody has succeed in leaving the SBG alive, at least not since Victor directs it. Without telling her teammates, she faked her own death five months ago and ran away to a town where Grady, an ex military, lives.

But soon, her past catches up to her and she needs to run again. For Grady, it's obvious something's up with her and that she's more than what she's letting on. He's not going to give up until he knows everything, even if it put him in danger.

Overall, I liked it but I expected more from this book. I didn't really connect with the characters. I was confused as to who was who at first when there was different points of views. I just wanted to skip those passages to get to more interesting things. I was bored sometimes, even if there were lots of actions. The romance wasn't mind blowing but it had nice elements with some sexy moments. Also, the drama with Talon was a little unfinished. I liked him and I didn't want to see him hurt.

Beyond Solitude

Beyond Solitude - Kit Rocha Derek Ford is brooding. His leg is still healing after a bad motorcycle accident that happened a few weaks ago. He doesn't want anyone to see him weak so he mostly spend his time in his office working or watching people. He's a loner but not for long, especially since the O'Kane family needs to be tight right now.

Then there is Mia, she's a new girl coming from the sector two. She ran away from her owner, an asshole who didn't want her but who messed with her mind. She's been trained as an Orchid, she's technically a virgin but knows a lot about sex. She's smart and can be useful, that's why she starts working with Derek. With him, it's real and completely different from what she ever knew.

They made a really cute couple. They were sweet but also hot together. They didn't participate in the famous parties that goes in this sector and I liked it, that kind of debauchery isn't for every couple I guess.

I knew what to expect here and I wasn't disappointed at all. I really enjoyed reading this new book in the series and now I just need to read the rest!

Once Perfect

Once Perfect - Cecy Robson I got an ARC of this book and I was so happy when I found out I've been approved on Netgalley to read and review it. (Many thanks to the publisher and author!)

Now about the book...

Mateo

He was in the army before he had to go to prison for beating up a man. The thing is, it was to protect and take revenge against the man who raped his little sister. He's a really good guy if you get to know him and you can be sure he'll have your back if there's trouble. Right now he's a bouncer in a nightclcub, and also a fighter. He's cubbean, and the guy knows how to dance and charm a girl. He's so sweet, kind and just so loving. He's also from a latino family who has strict ways. We learn a little about the latino culture and how women are expected to behave... I'm not sure how I feel about that, though.

Evelyn

Her mom died when she was four, then three years ago, her father killed himself. Her uncles turned against her to know where the money is but she didn't know. Everyone who was supposed to care about her turned their backs against her when rumors appeared about her family. Now she's a waitress at a club she used to go as a rich party girl. She mostly keeps to herself because it's easier and she doesn't want to get hurt again. She's a little scared of Mateo's past when she heard about it but she soon get past that.

They both struggle with their past and have difficult things to deal with. What happened to her is revealed only when her mind finally stopped blocking her memories. It's pretty bad and she'll have a hard time healing but with Mateo at ther side, it'll be easier.

I was hooked right from the start and I just wanted to know more. The romance felt good and it wasn't forced. They make a hot and amazing couple and I'll be damned if I didn't just melt at his feet when he started calling her baby and was all protective of her. #Swoonworthy

This book was also funny and I couldn't stop myself from laughing a few times. I needed it especially since the last book I've read was kinda depressing at the end. I needed a book who'd put me in a better mood, and Once Perfect did it! I loved the story. There was everything I wanted in it. It's the first book I've read from this author and it won't be the last. The end was a little rushed but I loved it anyway. I really liked the main characters, as well as the secondary ones and I hope they'll have their own books.

Overall, it was

Stones

Stones - Polly Johnson
Stones is the story of a young girl named Corinne (or Coo) who's struggling with some heavy family drama. Her brother Sam died a year ago because of alcohol but she doesn't miss the person he became. He was violent, mean and not the brother he should have been. Her parents seemed to not care at all if Sam hurt her, and it's still all about him, even now. She's feeling lonely and doesn't really connect with anyone, until Banks. I was really curious about him and I wanted to know more even if the book was focused on Coo's feelings.

What I didn't like? The ending. I don't really enjoy open endings and here it's like I didn't know at all what happened to Banks and I hated that feeling. It makes you think he drowned, but I'm not going to think that way because I can't bear it! It's too sad for my sensible heart. I felt bad how Coo left things with him and I just wanted to have more of an happy ending! I'm frustrated to be left that way...

Overall, I found that the story was compelling and realistic. It was emotional and I may have shed a tear or two. I liked it even if it was sad and a little unfinished.

Dark Child (Covens Rising): Episode 4

Dark Child (Covens Rising): Episode 4 - Adina West Here in this fourth episode, we find Kat in her aunt's château. After feeding from Alek she's been carried there while she wasn't really aware of what was happening.

She learns from Amarok that she can order her bracelets by putting the person she prefers nearest her hand. It's the "first promised". And now, she finds out another aspect from the man-wolf she considered her best friend for years now. She's struggling with her feelings with both of the unalil males. I like them both but I have a soft spot for Amarok. Since he wasn't really there in the previous episodes, I didn't remember it very well but now I do.

And while her romantic life is turning to be even more complicated, she finds out more about her origins and bloodline, and honestly? That's probably not a good thing for her even if it makes her more powerful, she'll be in the middle of everything that'll happen between the witches (the Coven) and the Tabérin.

There was more of Kat' story here and I liked it. I didn't really get why she started hitting the poor guy when he told her his feelings though, and I didn't understand why he said he couldn't be her consort, but that's probably because I forgot that part of the story if it was told in the Dark Child #1. It would have been nice to be reminded about that. I liked the fact that she seemed to accept a little more of her powers and I disliked her grandmother, she seemed really manipulative and ugh, I just hope she'll lose the battle who yet has to come in the next and final episode!

Chase You To The Sun

Chase You To The Sun - Jocelyn Han 4-4.5 stars

Well, let me tell you that Chase you to the sun didn't disappoint me at all. This is the third book in the Stardust series so I knew what to expect from this book but I think it's the storyline I enjoyed the most among the three installments. I truly loved it and I had a good time reading it. There was everything I was looking for: a good plot with sci-fi elements, intriguing characters and a smoking-hot romance with steamy scenes. What could a girl ask for?

Svetlana (or "Lana") Ivanova is the daughter of the wealthiest Russian Elit family. She has no idea what kind of man her father truly is and five years after her mother died over the hands of vengeful rebels, she got herself kidnapped by Bruce Randall, a sexy and powerful space pirate. He's one of the most wanted criminal and is known for being quite ruthless. She's a leverage for him to obtain what he wants. Soon sparks will fly between the two of them, they're obviously both attracted to each other and even if he scares her and may have to hurt her, she isn't going to start running and screaming, not when she finally found someone she really wants.

This book is a little more dark and intense. The erotica part was well made and we could realy feel the chemistry between the characters. I also enjoyed seeing again the characters from the previous books, it was a nice reminder.

The ending was open for the readers, I wish I'd know more about how their Relationship will evolve but well, open endings often left me feeling like this so I'll deal with it. I wonder how the story will grow from here (with the start of a Revolution coming up). Maybe we'll get a fourth book with another hot couple? I hope so.

He's Come Undone

He's Come Undone - Theresa Weir
He's come Undone is a quick and sweet romance who'll make you laugh a few times and leave you with a good feeling. I hate it when I finish reading a book and feel bad about it, it's like I just wasted a few hours of my time. But here it wasn't like that, thankfully!

The storyline was original, the idea of taking revenge on a womanizer appealed to me and I was hooked right from the start. It was nice to see that Julian is more than just a man-whore (kinda predictable but I like it!). No one knows about what he's been going through and he's just trying to erase his pain and cope by running and having sex with college girls who asked him out. Six of them had expected more from him than just a one night stand and they want to break his heart to get back at him. Their plan? They want to hire a young woman who'll be perfect for the role.

Ellie (or Evangeline) is an enjoyable character. She was an actress in a series on TV while she was a teen but now, she's broke after her mother spent every cents she had earned. After taking care of her dying mother, she's now desperate to find a job.

But things don't go according to plan when she finds out he's more than what the girls said he is. They are both attracted to each other and soon they're both affraid that whatever they have will stop. She doesn't really know what to do, especially when she falls for him. Should she tell him the truth? How is he going to react? ... Well, you'll just have to read to know what happens next. You won't be disappointed, I hope. :)

It kind of surprised me how much I enjoyed reading this book. I appreciated the characters' humor and I couldn't stop myself from laughing a few times while reading this book.

Slave Girl

Slave Girl - Lisa Cach Slave Girl is the first part in a series. It's only 90 pages and should be read quickly but it took me a while for me to finish it. I was a little bored around 30% and at the middle of the book because the story was dragging a bit. I was losing interest but the story picked up after that.

The main character is a young slave named Nimia. She's owned by Sygarius, her master for nine years. She has been trained and raised knowing that someday when she'll be ready, Sygarius will be the first man touching her. The only things she wants is to be free and to find her family again, but she would be risking safety and her own life by trying to escape or be with another man.

Clovis is a young and arrogant prince who charmed Nimia into having sex. Nimia is a little naive and happens what was supposed to happens... Things don't go smoothly afterward and she has to find a way out before Sygarius learns her betrayal.

I am having a hard time to know what to think of the different characters. Terix is probably the only character I liked, he was really sweet and nice. He's always here to help her and considere her as family. I was really disappointed by Clovis and a little irritated by him.

Overall, it was okay even if I wasn't hooked. I've never read a book with a similar story.

Head Over Heart

Head Over Heart - Olivia Besse
Elodie Marais is an orphan girl who became a model when she turned fifteen years old. After her break up with her first boyfriend Felix, nothing was holding her back in her native country so she went to London to take the opportunity she was given. But the thing is, modeling isn't really glamorous at times and she had to learn fast how to grow numb to all the criticisms. It wasn't what she expected and now she has a hard time to take real compliments from men she likes.

This book was a little hard to get into in the beginning, I wasn't hooked but I just wanted to finish reading. There wasn't really anything at first that let me know that it was going to be a great book with an interesting plot. The story was lacking, we learn about Elodie's past, how she get where she is now and how she found herself between two potential boyfriends: James and Tyler (and that's it). While James would be the safe choice, Tyler would be the passionate one. I loved the chemistry between Tyler and her, when there wasn't a lot of drama, they were really good together and they made a nice couple.

The ending was a little predictable and I'll admit that I'm pretty pissed at the heroine myself. I mean, seriously? Who said it was a good idea to try dating with two guys at the same time to see which one you prefer and really want to be with ... So yeah, I ended up a little frustrated over the characters. I'm still not sure if I'll read the next book even if I want to know what will happen next.
